SIBA's SustainaBiz set for June 2

"The Summit Independent Business Alliance (SIBA) and Our Future Summit are announcing keynote speakers for this year's SustainaBiz event June 2. Speakers will include Eric Drummond, Partner, Sherman & Howard, Denver and former Mayor, Manitou Springs, and Clark Anderson, Director, Sonoran Institute's Western CO Legacy Program, Glenwood Springs. Drummond will speak on “Bringing Big Initiatives Home, Global, Green Strategies for the Municipal Level”, while Anderson will center his talk on “The Role of Entrepreneurship in Creating Prosperous, Livable Communities.” "

"In light of the proposed Lowe's and Home Depot, the Summit Independent Business Alliance (SIBA) takes a firm stand that both projects stand to jeopardize the economic vitality and mountain-community character of Summit County, and most certainly the health of a slew of businesses located within Silverthorne. We thought it might be of interest to the public for us to share the suggestions we offered to the Silverthorne Town Council at the Feb. 10 meeting, at which the council voted in favor of Lowe's preliminary site plan."
